A warm welcome to Medical Specialist and Diagnostic Centre (MSDC) Psychology Department!! Psychology is the scientific study of behavior and mental cognition. Counseling is a professional relationship between a psychologist and a client where the psychologist helps define, explain, predict and control behavior of the client. The psychologist also works close enough with clients on strategies to overcome difficulties and personal challenges that they are facing.

This collaborative relationship is usually in line with the goals of counseling which include -;

• Promoting decision making skills
• Improving relationships
• Facilitating the clients’ maximum potential

The psychology department was created in April 2021. This is because psychology borrows from and contributes to other fields in the health sector as is the case with MSDC. The following are the services offered in the Psychology department-;

• Adolescent & youth counselling
• Loss and grief counseling
• Trauma counselling
• Stress and anger management
• Psychological assessment
• Outreach programs: talks to schools, corporate organizations, churches
• Handling GBV issues
